It’s a New Day and a New Way at The Playful Garden and Playful Digs!

As the New Year begins, many of us tend to want a fresh, new outlook. At The Playful Garden and Playful Digs, we’re ready for just that! It’s time for something NEW, and we’re in the process of thinking it–and bringing it–your way.

With the opening of Playful Digs last November, the combination of both stores provides a playground for your imagination. Each store has its own personality and what they offer is similar (being that they’re sisters!), yet they’re different in their own right.

While the light and cheerful Playful Garden has grown into a colorful garden of gifts for gardeners and non-gardeners alike, Playful Digs has a deeper and more earthy purpose: simply to share the joy of gardening with planet-friendly products. It is our desire at Playful Digs to sell products that 1) promote gardening and garden play and 2) products that are good for both you and the earth. Period. For now you’ll find an array of indoor plants, vintage and new planet-friendly garden art and furniture, tools and whatever else we can find that’s uniquely “green.” It’s the perfect place to recycle your cool garden stuff (just call us and ask about consignment).

Playful Digs also offers us the space to hold workshops and our heads are reeling with ideas! We want to hear your ideas as well. What garden-related subject would interest you? Would you like to learn how to introduce playfulness into your garden?…or plant a mini terrarium?…or maybe explore your creative spirit indoors & out with artist/writer/author mary anne radmacher? We want our workshops to reflect your desires, so put on your thinking cap and feel free to give us your input at www.facebook.com/playfuldigs (or better yet, in person!)

The Playful Garden will be introducing new products and having trunk shows and author events in the near future as well. (p.s. for the romantic at heart, this store has some delightful gifts for your Valentine, with more products coming in the next couple of weeks.)

We’ve shortened our Winter hours a bit to give us more time to plant seeds for “The Garden” and “Digs.” In January and part of February, both stores will be open Wed. through Sun. from 12-5PM (closed Mondays and Tuesdays). If you work and need us to stay open a smidgen longer, just give us a call. We’ll be happy to accommodate your needs.

Playful Digs is coming to downtown Napa!

Playful Digs, an offshoot of The Playful Garden, will soon be sprouting up on First Street in downtown Napa. The new store will be located at 1201 First, on the corner of Coombs and First Streets (former Doll Store). Owner Mimi Glavin plans to sell earth-friendly products, repurposed garden-related items (“Green Bug Goods”), plants and planted containers. She is currently on an enthusiastic hunt for vintage garden items in all shapes and sizes for Playful Digs. We just received a shipment from Jendala and have a great selection to choose from. Is your mom a gardener? The new (and beautiful, we must say) Playful Garden is OPEN for business again! Our new location and address is 1232 First St., Napa (between Coombs and Randolph streets).

Who’s on First? WE are! The Playful Garden has moved out of the Caymus St. location and into its new location at 1232 First St. in Napa. We have a bit (that’s an exaggeration) of unboxing and rearranging to do, but hope to be back in business by mid-March.
